Book Meet World
Dear All,
This is the latest episode of Don’t Press That Button, a newsletter about books and music and movies and cats and baseball and whatnot. As the name would indicate, we are very cautious about buttons in these parts. We’re not about to encourage you to go pressing buttons willy-nilly. Those vending machines that operate like Battleship, where you have to code in B-4 or D-6 or whatever, we all know how you need to be careful when making your choice. One errant move, D-3 instead of D-2, and you’re getting a Butterfinger when you wanted the cheese and peanut butter sandwich crackers.
However, I’ve investigated the button below, and all it does is subscribe you to this newsletter. There’s no funny saying or sound, but there’s no danger either. If you’re new here, and you’d like to stick around, you can safely do so by clicking on it.
Publication Day
Today is the day!
The Curator has actually been leaking into bookstores for the last week or so, but this is the official publication date, and I am so glad that the novel is out in the world. A huge number of people helped make it possible, and I hope they all know how much I appreciate them.
Meanwhile, the review of the book in The Times by Dexter Palmer was everything I could possibly have wished for it to be, and then some. The good folks at Tor.com also have an excerpt up if you’d like a little preview.
I’m excited to appear at the Morton Memorial Library tonight in conversation withone of my favorite writers, the novelist Kelly Braffet — and speaking of people who made the novel possible, Kelly, my collaborator in this life, is at the top of the list.
Oblong is still accepting orders for signed copies if you would like one.
That’s all I have for the moment, but if you decide to pick up the novel at a store or from the library, I sure do appreciate it. Fingers crossed that you get a kick out of it.
As always, my thanks for subscribing, and in case you ever have a question or a comment or just want to say hi, if you reply to the email, I will see it. I’m over on Instagram, too, if you’d like to follow along there.
All Best,
Owen
